...

Ananaya Jain, a 17-year-old from Ludhiana, Punjab, has made headlines by scoring a 100th percentile in four out of five subjects in the CUET-UG 2025—a feat unmatched by any of the 10.71 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results on Friday.

Ananaya scored perfect 100th percentile in Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies, and narrowly missed a full sweep by scoring 99.99 percentile in English. She also achieved 98.8% in her CBSE board exams earlier this year.

Expressing her aspirations, Ananaya said, “Economics is my favourite subject, and I aim to pursue BA (Hons) Economics at Hindu College or Shri Ram College of Commerce under Delhi University. DU offers a great academic environment and student community.”

Following Ananaya is Arjav Jain (17) from Krishna Nagar, East Delhi, a student of Bhai Parmanand Vidya Mandir, who came second and plans to pursue economics at DU as well. Purva Singh from Haryana secured the third spot.

According to NTA, this year:

  • 17 students scored 100th percentile in three subjects

  • 150 students in two subjects

  • 2,679 students in one subject

The CUET-UG 2025, held from May 13 to June 4 across 300 cities, allows candidates to choose up to five subjects from 37 options. The exam consisted of multiple-choice questions, with a scoring pattern of +5 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect ones. A total of 28 questions were dropped from the final revised answer key after reviewing student objections.

This year, the test was conducted for admission to 239 universities, down from 283 in 2024.
